Tanoshi Sushi – Fresh, Authentic Sushi and Warm Service in Rockville Centre

Finally a sushi spot in RVC that delivers reliably good sushi in a no-frills but warm and inviting atmosphere. Baby octopus and hamachi appetizers were excellent and authentic. Sushi and sashimi for 2 came with large slices of quality fresh fish. Sushi portion and temperature were on point. They also serve sake and beer. It was overall an excellent dining experience.

The space is intimate without feeling cramped, and the soft lighting and subtle Japanese touches create the perfect relaxed atmosphere for a great meal. The food? Next-level delicious. We started with the vegetable gyoza – perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. Then came the rolls, and wow… the Spicy Girl Roll and the Kito Roll completely stole the show. Both were packed with bold, fresh flavors that hit all the right notes – the spice was balanced, the fish tasted like it was just pulled from the ocean, and every bite was pure satisfaction. Paired everything with a glass of Cabernet, and somehow it just tied the whole meal together beautifully. Service was attentive but never hovering, and every dish came out quickly without feeling rushed. Tanoshi Sushi is a must-try for anyone in RVC or passing through Long Island. I’m already counting down the days until I’m back – this place just earned a permanent spot on my favorites list! Highly recommend.

JUST WOW!!!!!! This place is a new gem that has graced RVC. I’m so glad we came here for my aunts birthday. The ambiance is relaxing and intimate. The chef and owner Tony personally came to our table to make sure everything was going well. The sushi was incredibly fresh tasting and loved the presentation. They also have gluten free soy sauce and waitstaff was knowledgeable about gluten free options. I can’t wait to come back here and will definitely be a regular.
